Ministry
to the kids is an integral part of our mission at Covenant
House Alaska. We recognize that we must serve the spiritual
needs in addition to the physical needs. Kids come to us
often with a great spiritual need, a need that they identify
only as feeling “unloved.” Anyone can see this
after spending a few moments interacting with these kids.
The questions often asked are: “Who is God? Why does
God hate me? What is life all about? Why is my life the
way it is? Why do you work with us?”

This
program aims to help kids find answers to these questions
through education, listening, discussing values, guidance
and patience. We seek to provide kids with the opportunity
to ask questions and find answers in a way that is meaningful
and challenging to them. We encourage all kids to
explore the concepts of faith and spirituality in their
own life. We help them find a way that their faith
can be used as a source of strength.
