Covenant House Get Involved

Street Outreach
At Covenant House Alaska (CHA), we know it's sometimes hard for youth to ask for help. That's why we believe it's important to reach out to them on their own turf through Street Outreach.

The goal of Street Outreach is simple. Reach youth where they are…on the streets. Through Street Outreach, teams of CHA outreach workers, peer outreach workers and volunteers hit the streets to provide teens with immediate assistance, such as food, bus tokens, socks and warm clothing, as well as information about CHA programs.

After the initial contact is made, we work to establish relationships with each youth, and continue encouraging them to take advantage of CHA programs and services.

Whether we're on foot, on bikes or in the Street Outreach van, our message is clear – we care about you and we want to help.
