Book donations:
To better support our youth, we no longer accept book donations. However, you can still put your book donation towards helping our youth! Our friends at Title Wave Books have made it possible for you to donate your in-store shopping credit to CHA's account when you sell your gently used books! All credits donated go towards purchasing books and study materials for our youth.
All donations can be dropped off at our main location downtown. Find us at 755 A Street (on the corner of 8th and A)
Directions: When driving north on A Street, you will see our orange and blue building on the right side of the road. Turn right into the alleyway just past our main building and between Covey Academy. Once in the alleyway, you will see a large overhang leading to our front doors. Enter the building there with your donation.
Parking: There are two guest parking spaces next to our building, just past the overhang. You may park there to make your donation. Street parking on the surrounding streets is also available.
Alleyway etiquette: The alleyway is a one-way street. Please exit onto Barrow at the opposite end you came in. Do not stop in the middle of the alley to unload your donations unless there is adequate room to drive around you.
At the Front Desk: When you enter the building, you are in a shared space with young people, staff, and volunteers all with varying levels of physical and mental wellness. Please be patient with our front desk staff as they might be supporting a young person. Please know that your donation matters, and we will do our best to prioritize you and your drop-off experience! A donation receipt will be provided at time of drop off.

What should I pack my donations in? Please pack your donations in sturdy boxes or bags to ensure they are securely transported to our facility. We appreciate if items are well organized and labeled, especially with larger donations.
Do my donations need to be laundered? Yes! We will not accept any stained or unwashed clothing.
Do I need to call in advance before dropping off? While advance notice is not required, it is always helpful when bringing by a larger donation. This way, we can ensure someone is available to receive your donation and process it efficiently!
Is someone available to help me unload my donation? Due to staffing capabilities, we cannot guarantee that a staff member will be available to help with unloading your vehicle. However, if you know you will need assistance, please call ahead to coordinate a drop off time so we can ensure someone will be available to assist you. We are here to make the process as convenient as possible for our donors!
Is your location safe? Yes, CHA takes the safety and well-being of our residents, staff, volunteers, and donors very seriously. Our facility is located in a safe and accessible area with appropriate security measures in place.
What ages do you serve? Can I donate baby clothes? CHA serves young people ages 13-24 and therefore we ask for adult-sized clothing donations. Some of the young people we serve have young children and so we are happy to accept baby clothes as well.
Please contact us at 907-339-4230 if you have any questions about donating to CHA!
