Youth Enrichment Program

The Youth Enrichment Program at Covenant House Alaska promotes the development and enhancement of wellness skills and habits. We positively engage youth in healthy activities, civic involvement, youth leadership, and offer community volunteer and internship opportunities.

The Youth Enrichment Program is based at our Youth Engagement Center (YEC). It also serves as one of our Transitional Living Programs for older youth. Activities include:

  • Structured creative and recreational activities, including planned outings designed to promote social, emotional, spiritual, environmental, occupational, intellectual and physical well being
  • Alaska Native cultural programs that promote a healthy sense of identity that connects youth to their heritage
  • Access to community volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups
  • Participation in special community activities and events, such as Global Youth Service Day, First Friday Art Shows, youth-friendly music and spoken word Open Mics
